The United Organization of Romanian Jewry in Israel (A.M.I.R), chooses MasterDAM from IDEA Information Systems to establish an advanced digital historical archive for the commemoration of the history of the Romanian Jewish community.
A.M.I.R aims to preserve the history of Romanian Jewry. As part of A.M.I.R ‘s ongoing activities in Israel, actions are taken to commemorate the history of the Romanian Jewish community, such as: establishing a museum and heritage center, actions to strengthen the culture and connection in the present, as well as establishing a historical digital archive.
The archive preserves and presents the history of Romanian Jewry spanning hundreds of years of rich cultural, scientific, communal, leadership and religious creation in Romania and the Land of Israel and of a tremendous contribution to Zionism and the State of Israel. The purpose of the archive is to gather, manage and share a variety of materials including videos, photos, events, articles, a collection of personalities, research literature and more.
Until now A.M.I.R has stored their massive collections of digitalized records in the cloud, however the organization was looking for a friendly yet professional system for central storage and management of all digital assets and their sharing in order to create an advanced digital archive. The MasterDAM system will enable A.M.I.R to store and organize all digital assets using custom attributes, which will shorten significantly the search time and provide a single and secure central place for storing, sharing, and distributing digital assets within the organization, the community and outside of them, easily and quickly.
Lior Govrin, CEO of IDEA Information Systems, noted: “The archive of The United Organization of Romanian Jewry in Israel like many heritage and cultural institutions, has a wide variety of digital content and in ever-increasing quantities. The quantities and variety of materials create challenges in their storage, management and sharing. We are trust that A.M.I.R’s choice to migrate their digital archive to MasterDAM’s infrastructure will enable the organization to efficiently manage and quickly search the unique digital assets of cultural assets and heritage materials of Romanian Jewry.”
